The two victims of the fatal traffic accident that occurred on the morning of last Sunday, August 21, 2022 in Edinburg were identified by the authorities as Elizabeth González Jiménez, 37, and Eden Alberis Romero Archaga, 30. Both were residents of San Juan.

The two people who died were traveling in a dark gray Chrysler Crossfire that was involved in a collision with a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer in the 4000 block of I-69C South in Edinburg. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 am and when officers arrived on scene they found the woman dead next to the Chrysler that overturned in the northbound lanes.

On the day of the crash, officers noted that a white Dodge Ram pickup had damage to the driver’s side front end and a large Peterbilt truck with a car hauler trailer was stopped on the freeway.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that both the large truck and the pickup had collided with the Chrysler Crossfire.

In the Chrysler Crossfire there were two people, a driver and the passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the crash site. The driver of the auto transport vehicle and the driver of the van were not injured.

Edinburg authorities responded to the accident that occurred in the 4-thousand block south of I-69C in the early hours of August 21. They have not released the identity of the deceased.
