They want Justice and answers after the last work accident resulting in death in Castellón for which two people have already been arrested. The relatives of Héctor Raúl Santisteban, the 57-year-old painter who died days ago when he fell from a height of ten meters while working on a crane in a polygon in the Alqueries, hope that this tragedy “does not go unpunished.” After learning of the arrest of two men who, presumably, would have commissioned him a job on the 5th -although without a contract in between-, they lament the conditions of “absolute lack of security” in which the victim operated.

Mauricio, son of the deceased, asserted yesterday in conversations with this newspaper that his father was asked for a job on Sunday “to avoid the presence of the Labor Inspectorate.” Very affected by what happened, he also criticized that the crane that was provided to his father was supposedly “a machine for interior work, but not on a facade.” As he already confirmed a few days ago, his parent was not wearing a helmet or a harness, so the impact on the asphalt was fatal. Upon SAMU’s arrival, the toilets could only confirm that he had lost his life.

The Civil Guard announced this past weekend the arrest for an alleged crime of reckless homicide of two people. The Burriana Judicial Police concluded that the deceased had not been provided with any documentation on the danger of the work, occupational risk prevention, or any specific instructions on the machinery and the work to be carried out. Those arrested are the owner of the company that commissioned the service and the person who directly contracted the deceased. According to the son of Héctor Raúl Santisteban, this last person would be the salesperson who was with his father at the time of the accident and who witnessed the fall.

Although the accident took place very close to the Pissano tile company, its manager confirmed yesterday to Mediterráneo that the ceramic company had nothing to do with the fatal accident.
