PASADENA, Texas – A 17-year-old teenager faces serious criminals against him after the accident that occurred on the streets of this city in the southeast of the Houston metropolitan area on Sunday morning.

According to the Webster Police Department, the young man identified as Christopher Evan Romero, 17, generated a chase for about 16 miles aboard a car that had been reported stolen.

According to documents filed in Harris County Criminal Court, Romero reached speeds of 100 mph in his attempt to flee from authorities.

But when it reached the intersection of Beltway 8 and Spencer Highway it caused a three-vehicle crash, in which one of the drivers involved was killed. This was identified as Rolando Del Real Gonzales.

Four more people were injured, including Romero himself, according to police, who now faces charges of homicide, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.

Romero had an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Dimmit County.

In the vehicle where Romero was traveling, a 15-year-old minor was found, who had been reported missing in the San Antonio area.

Romero was out on bond in a drug and firearms case in Kendall, court records show.

This Monday, in his presentation before a preliminary court, Romero was set on $300,000 bail.
