Members of the Castilla y León Rescue and Rescue Association have recovered yesterday the lifeless body of the ultralight pilot who suffered an accident on December 17 in the Valladolid town of Villamarciel, on the Duero River.
Components of the Castilla y León Rescue and Rescue Association, a group of volunteer specialists in diving, salvage and aquatic rescue who collaborated with the Civil Guard in the search for this person, have rescued the lifeless body of the deceased pilot, in the waters of the Duero, four kilometers downstream from the point where the ultralight fatal accident occurred.
Guillermo Álvarez’s body was found floating on the right bank of the Duero River hooked to some branches and he was carrying his DNI.
From the moment the disappearance of the ultralight became known, the Civil Guard has coordinated and directed the search efforts, which have not stopped for a single day since then, to find the two occupants of this plane.
Two days after the accident, the Special Group for Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard rescued the body of Beatriz Cantos Melgar, 40 years old and manager of the Matilla de los Caños Aerodrome, who accompanies Guillermo Álvarez in the plane.
