Source: One of the injured in the Alcolea accident dies

Sescam sources have confirmed this Sunday to this newspaper the death of one of those injured in the accident between a truck and a car that occurred last Friday morning on the N-430, near Alcolea de Calatrava. The deceased is a 50-year-old man who, after the accident, was admitted to the ICU of the General Hospital of Ciudad Real. The other injured man, 52 years old and with multiple injuries, is doing well from his injuries and has been transferred to the ward, these same sources report.
The accident was caused by a frontal collision between a truck and a car and even forced the closure of the N-430 to traffic. The drivers of the vehicles were trapped after the impact and the firefighters had to carry out extrication work. The Civil Guard, an emergency doctor and a medical helicopter also traveled to the scene. The injured were transferred in UVI and emergency ambulance to the General Hospital of Ciudad Real.
This is the first fatality in a traffic accident in the year 2023 in the province after a year 2022 that closed with 24 deaths on the road: 19 drivers killed, three pedestrians and two passengers.
