The PO-308 road between Pontevedra and Sanxenxo has received a new fatality on its way through Poio. A 52-year-old resident of O Grove passed away this Wednesday after suffering an accident in this road when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car. According to the Traffic Civil Guard, the incident occurred at 8:20 p.m. and consisted of a front-to-side collision between the two vehicles.
Other sources point out that the motorcyclist was driving in the direction of Sanxenxo at the height of Covelo when he ran into the car, which was being driven by a 51-year-old resident of Poio. Traffic agents indicate that the woman was unharmed and gave a negative breathalyzer test.
After the collision, the motorcycle was thrown about fifty meters and its only occupant, initials JVP, was under the front wheels of the car, in the middle of the road. Numerous witnesses attended to the wounded man until the arrival of the Poio Local Police, an 061 ambulance and the Traffic Civil Guard, in charge of investigating the causes of the accident as it was a non-urban section.
