A man whose three children were killed by a drunk driver in a crash in Vaughan, Ont. has died by suicide. Edward Lake was found deceased on Monday, the day after Father’s Day.

On Sunday, Edward’s wife Jennifer Neville-Lake shared a photo on social media showing their children’s grave. “Father’s Day 2022. This shouldn’t be real. It can’t be,” the tweet read.

The couple’s three children were killed in a crash in September 2015 caused by drunk driver Marco Muzzo. Nine-year-old Daniel Neville-Lake, his five-year-old brother Harrison, their two-year-old sister Milly and the children’s 65-year-old grandfather, Gary Neville, were killed in the collision.

Edward said in a statement at Muzzo’s sentencing that he had suffered from suicidal thoughts and anxiety since the crash.

  1. Oh my God I really hate to hear this. Is so sad he didn't deserve to die neither did his children and her grandfather. I can't believe the man only got 10 years.

  2. Its sad he decided to kill himself…. leaving the wife and mother alone… how is she coping? This has to be a huge blow to her heart. Condolences to her…

  3. The absence of the children in home broke him. Not hearing their child voices and not feeling their energy during playtime in the front room and the house just dead quiet just tore him apart. 😔

  4. I couldn’t imagine the pure amount of suffering that man endured for 7 years. I could tell you now – my daughter was taken from me.. I wouldn’t be able to handle that long.

I’m not religious- and we have no idea what actually happens when we go, but I do hope that IF there is SOMETHING. He’s there with his babies.

  5. Muzzo family has lots of connections to the Gov of Vaughan and also heavily involved in mafia activities. City of Vaughan should strip off the name of Muzzo from Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital donation list as their entire family lines are cold-hearted pyschopaths….

  6. The poor man went through such hell, he is in peace now Drunk drivers just don’t kill once, their actions continue to have consequences forever.

  7. Our justice system need to send the message that the wealthy don’t always get a free pass. Marco Muzzo killed for people and his actions destroy an entire family yet he is living his life happily and this family is still suffering. Where is the justice in that

  9. Very sad, I feel for this family, the "Liberal" Canadian justice system fails yet another law abiding citizen. The criminal element succeeds again under a system designed to protect them, not the innocent. When are we gonna wake up and see what Canada has become, Marco is free thumbing his nose, satisfied he has almost wiped out a family 100%. God bless a society where wealthy donations to the ruling party, and it's corrupt dictator, guarantees even murder turns a Liberal judges eye. This Lake family has endured more heartache than anyone could expect. Keep voting Liberal Canada…..

  10. And that SCUMBAG Marco Muzzo is freely walking around in our society, his family's immense wealth shielding him from any true consequences.
SHAME ON THE ENTIRE MUZZO FAMILY!

  11. Geez I‘m from europe and I‘m sickened the people of canada allow such an injustice. How can this child killer roam free after just 5 years? Obviously his familiy is rich. Unbelievable.

  13. Why wasn’t he charged with vehicle manslaughter? Canada is the absolute best place to commit any kind of crime, since the penalty is always just a slap on the wrist. This POS is already out and still breathing. I don’t live in Canada so I didn’t know about the story until it popped up in my feed. Heartbreaking!!!

  14. 😢 I’d have committed SUICIDE as well
    – JUDICIAL SYSTEM created by POWERFUL people to protect their own interest
    – I also have 3 kids(9, 7, & 4). He felt WORTHLESS, DISAPPOINTED, DISGUSTED, DEFENSELESS, POWERLESS…

  15. I totally understand why he did it, every father who loves his children will. The justice he sought in court would have sustained him for a while, but after that, even if he tried to move on, re-marry, even have more kids etc, none of that could assauge the loss. I can't even imagine losing one child, losing three in one moment…. nope.

  16. Lol when u realize u can buy most institutions by just paying them (donations). Hospitals are gona keep his name alive. We are seeing the corruption in front of our eyes and cannot do a thing. I pray they are resting in peace while muzzo rests in piss.

  19. Canadian laws are so freakin soft when it comes to these situations and it SHOULDN’T. Drunk driving should be considered intentional considering how intentional the acts are leading up to the event and the reasoning. This story is so horrific, sad and depressing. I’m truly praying for the woman because I don’t understand how one person can take all of this😔😔😔😔

  20. Absolute tragedy! I can’t even begin to comprehend (and I hope I never do) the immense trauma the Neville-Lake family have had to endure. I’m not a religious man but I hope that Ed has found peace at last.

  21. People are never going to learn! QUIT DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. Every damn time these people think “that won’t happen to me because I’m a good driver, or I’m careful; or, it’s not that far & I’ve made that drive a million times, sometimes even while drunk and nothing bad has ever happened; or, that’s something that happens to other people. Yeah well guess what, YOU ARE OTHER PEOPLE!! SO. STOP. MAKING. INNOCENT. PEOPLE. SUFFER. FOR. YOUR. HORRIBLE. DECISIONS.
