Weslaco Police responded to a call reporting an accident where two vehicles were involved in the 1300 block of South International Boulevard in Weslaco.
On Thursday, September 29, 2022, at approximately 11:26 pm, the mishap was recorded. Upon arrival, officers found a 47-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The person who lost his life was driving a 2005 Red Ford Focus. Officers contacted the driver of the other vehicle, a white 2019 Ford F150 Raptor, identified as Clayton Wayne Neuhaus, 25-year-old who showed signs of being intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test.
According to the preliminary investigation it was determined that the Red Ford Focus was leaving the parking lot of Frankie Flav’z located in the 1300 block of South International Boulevard and was attempting to turn north into the lanes of Internationa l Boulevard (FM1015) when he was struck by the southbound Ford truck. Investigators reported that there were no visible signs or markings on the street that Neuhaus attempted to brake prior to impact.
Weslaco police arrested and charged Clayton Wayne Neuhaus with involuntary manslaughter, a second degree felony.
