Wright Street At Alta Arden

On April 17th, at 2:39 a.m. Sacramento Metro Fire and CHP were dispatched to Wright Street and Alta Arden Expressway in Arden-Arcade for reports of a vehicle crashing into a homeless encampment.
Upon arriving at the scene First Responders found a car had left the roadway, collided with a homeless encampment, went through a fence and came to rest against a building.
Fire arrived on scene and found one victim, a homeless woman, and pronounced her deceased on scene.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed, remained on scene, and cooperated with the officers.
Officers conducted several Field Sobriety Tests (FST) and found the driver to be under the influence, they were taken into custody, and transported to the jail for booking.
