A man has died this Friday due to the accident suffered by the vehicle in which he was traveling as co-pilot on the Autovía de la Plata (A-66) at the height of Guijuelo.
The events took place around 1:30 p.m. when the SUV in which he was traveling along with three other people hit the rear left of the platform of a truck that was traveling on the highway. The damaged vehicle presented the greatest damage to the right front part, that is, in the area of the co-pilot occupied by the fatal victim.
The accident occurred at kilometer 388 in the direction of Salamanca and, according to various sources consulted by LA GACETA, in addition to the deceased, his three companions were injured in varying degrees and were treated at the scene by the Sacyl emergency teams. Firefighters and Civil Guard also traveled to the place, which had to cut off the external lane until the damaged vehicle was removed.

The deceased was Senegalese, the sources report. He apparently worked for a construction and renovation company based in Monforte de Lemos (Lugo) and was traveling with several colleagues. In fact, next to the accident SUV he was waiting for another vehicle with a group of visibly affected colleagues, who were able to leave the scene of the accident once the agents gathered the necessary information to prepare the report.
After attending to the companions, the body was removed around 3:30 p.m. and, later, the SUV with which the traffic could be restored in the early afternoon.
