An older man dies after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in Queens.
Authorities received a call Sunday night about a pedestrian who was struck by a black sedan at the corner of Myrtle and Seneca avenues in Rigdewood.
The 74-year-old man, whose identification was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The activist organization ‘Transportation Alternatives’ posted a message on social media about the latest accidents in which they urge both Mayor Adams and the Transportation Commissioner to take immediate action “to accelerate life-saving street redesigns.”
“We send our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the 2 deceased people and wish a full and speedy recovery to the person injured in traffic violence overnight,” the message continues.

The other fatal accident that occurred on Sunday was that of a scooter that collided with a vehicle and in which a four-year-old boy died.
There was another accident that also happened on Sunday in which a 38-year-old woman was hit by a driver of an SUV who fled the scene in Crown Heights in Brooklyn.
The victim in this case was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
